Frequently Asked Questions

How do you match the colour of my vehicle?
From your vehicle’s paint code which is supplied by the manufacturer . The paint is then carefully weighed and mixed from a selection of colour tints to achieve the perfect match, and allow us to start repairs immediately. Most paint colours can be reproduced exactly which is vital for a successful SMART repair!

What are you trading hours
We work from Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 18:00 in Summer
08:00 to 16.00 in Winter (Too dark after 16:30)

Can you repair my vehicle if the weather is bad?
We carry a portable, light weight pop up shelter which allows us to work in most weather conditions, (exceptions are very high winds/rain) but space is required and within 25 meters of an electricity supply (A domestic 240v socket will suffice)

How long does the repair take?
This depends on the extent of the damage but on average between 2 and 4 hours from start to finish. The price quoted is the price you pay this is not dependant on time taken to do the repair.

How long after the repair has been completed can I drive my vehicle?
Immediately
What type of damage do you repair?
We specialise in small to medium sized repairs (S.M.A.R.T), although we do full panel resprays. We will not undertake structural damage repairs as these will need a body shops specialised equipment. We also do not replace windscreens.

How much will my repair cost?
We cannot give an accurate quote for repairs without first seeing the damage, as the cost will depend on the amount of work and materials involved, although if you contact us we can give you a ball park figure. We do not charge by the hour but give you a total, fully inclusive price.
Our list of  "Services" on the             page provides a guide to the type of repairs we undertake .
We shall be pleased to discuss pricing and provide a FREE, no obligation quote to you before you decide to proceed with the repairs.

You mention panels and charge per repair per panel Can you describe what are they and why charge per panel?
A panel is a segment of the body work. A door is a panel as is a wing, bumper, rear wing, bonnet etc. Should you have a bumper scuff and scratches up on the wing, that is classed a 2 panels. A vandal scratch on1 door, that is classed as1panel. Depending on the damage and repair on the 2nd panel and if lighter, (Eg: Cracked bumper but light scratches on wing), it will reflect in a lower price per panel, the wing, than the main repair of a cracked bumper which would require more work.
A heavy dent and scratch through the paint work on 2 doors, the price will be equal per panel due to the equal amount of work required.

When you are doing repairs on my vehicle, will you do a few extra repairs included in the price agreed that I forgot to mention/happened since you gave us a quote? You'll already be there so it won't make much difference to you.
In a word, No!
When we have assessed your repairs, given you a quote, an agreement of work is made and deposit is paid, (see "Terms of Service") we will only complete the work that is agreed. We would be more than happy to arrange to give you another quote for extra work and if we have the time that day to complete any work we will but often another date will need to be arranged.  But to expect us to carry out other work for free and assuming that we have no other clients to be with after yourself is not on and plain rude. That would be akin to your employer asking you to do overtime for no pay just as you are already in the building. Any small repairs we do for free is down to our discretion and our clients overall attitude.

My vehicle needs lots of work and there are scratches and dents/surface rust patches everywhere. I love my car and I don't want to replace it, but I can't afford to get everything repaired in one go and make it look good again?
That is not a problem. We know what it's like. We love our vehicles as we get to know its quirks and reliability. Getting another vehicle you never know quite what you have no matter how clean and tidy it looks.  We are more than happy to work on a repair at a time. Repair a dent on a door this month and all payed for, we book you in next month to repair that cracked bumper/rusty wheel arch at a discounted rate as you are a returning customer. Over a small amount of time you will have your car looking great and still cheaper than replacing it and you still have peace of mind of what you own.

When do I pay for the work, and what payment methods do you accept?
Once we have agreed to work with each other, we will require a deposit, (Details of which will be explained in our "Terms of Service" and the remainder of payment is to be made once all repairs have been completed on the day other arranged in advance. We take payment via cash or Debit/Credit payment . Sorry but we don't take cheques. Receipts are always offered on deposit and full payment.

Do I need to wash my car?
While we do not expect you your car to be cleaned to a high standard we do expect the area to be repaired not to be covered in excessive grime, mud or cow muck. If we have to spend extra time removing excess mud and dirt, we will charge you on top of the agreed price for the repair for our time and effort.
